Wardrobe diary: Black basics

Colette cap | Jeanswest Isabella SS Textured tee | Jeanswest Lottie jeans | Jeanswest Kiriana Pin Stitch PU jacket | Ninewest Goodriden wedges

There comes a time of year when black will undoubtedly dominate all your outfits, that time is called Winter. With all my money being invested into my new business I've had to sacrifice my spending. Luckily Jeanswest recently opened in Unley (Adelaide) and so generously let me pick out a few of my favourite pieces in store.

I'm not exaggerating when I say these jeans are the comfiest pair I own (along with my matching, dark blue coloured pair). Finally, a cut that sits just above my belly button, flattening my stomach and tucking in those pokey hips that love to jump out. They're tight around the bum and skinny around the ankles, everything I've ever wanted in a pair of jeans. Unlike the other pairs I own, I can actually move around easily in my Lotties, without feeling constrained.

Once you've got your black basics in the bag, you're set for season.

Lack of Color Montana Silver Haze | Keepsake Already Home Top | Museum shorts | Sportsgirl socks | Lipstik shoes

I know I religiously wear my Montana Silver Haze, but it's seriously good at hiding regrowth, plus it keeps my head dry in the wet weather that's been so apparent as of late - and last Monday was no exception.

My friend and I braved it out in nine degree weather between scattered rain showers and charges of wind that continuously blew my hat off! Lucky I had socks to keep my tootsies warm.

The moral of this story: always have a trusty hat and pair of socks on hand!

P.S. Did you notice the gorgeous detailing of my new Keepsake top? Interesting textures are my favourite thing right now!

I had the pleasure of working with an energetic all-girl team to style the "All Stars" shoot for TEO Magazine's launch issue. These two babes (above) are fresh to the modelling scene and are already plastering their names all over local publications, including The Urban Silhouette
and of course, TEO.

With perfect pins and heads full of healthy, shiny hair - Eden and Imogen certainly made the job less work and more play. This look was all about layering and as per usual, nineties vibes. Bomber jackets, leopard print, scrunchies, hibiscus flowers and shirts around the waist were all symbols of nineties fashion and here they are making a comeback in Finders Keepers' current collection, Westsider
.

Head to TEO Magazine to check out the images that were selected for publishing, including flat-lays featuring these pieces.

Why are most of my posts on street wear? Because these are the types of outfits I wear about 75% of the time. These are a true reflection of me. I love to be comfortable, I like wearing clothes that can mirror my movements with ease. The work I do (when I'm away from the laptop) is hands-on and I need to feel 100% confident that I don't just look good but also feel good when I'm working - yes, I work more than I do anything else, sadly.

So here's a compilation of edited images shot by the endlessly talented and creative, Krystal Opie. The second image was used on the cover of TEO Magazine's launch issue and the rest were included in the magazine's "Game Changer" editorial, plus I also snuck in a few exclusive images that weren't published in the mag.

I hope you all enjoy the styling, this was probably one of my favourite shoots, full of amazing memories with a great team.

Yours truly,

School's out

casper&pearl Arithmetic Sweater | UNIF bottoms from Sticks and Stones Agency | Dr Martens Mary Jane from Barlow Shoes

Here's one of the looks I styled a couple of months ago for a 90s nostalgia/school girl shoot. We spent a crazy 10 hours between two locations with about 11 different outfit changes and three or four makeup and hair looks. That kind of shoot calls for an amazing team and that was exactly what we had. It was Kaya's first ever shoot and she was a trooper, despite wearing a sweater in bikini weather.

Location one was appropriately set in a high school, prompting memories of a time where Romy and Michele's High School Reunion
and Jawbreaker were the latest flicks.

To add to the nostalgia and school yard theme, we snacked on Bellis fruit bars between sets. Even though school's out forever, the memories never seem to fade.

Sports Luxe for Dizzy Doll Boutique

Shopaholic shift dress from Dizzy Doll Boutique | Verali Bron from Barlow Shoes

Ice Queen top from Dizzy Doll Boutique | Museum shorts | Windsor Smith Slide from Barlow Shoes

Active, headstrong and determined - these are traits that epitomise the modern woman; and with that in mind, especially at a time where women's rights are the prime topic of discussion (the #yesallwomen epidemic), this sports luxe look was inspired by the power and resilience of the women of 2014.

Nothing screams bold, confident and unstoppable, more than a woman in sports gear. While these outfits may not be ideal for a sweaty workout, they certainly resemble stylish versions of similar ensembles worn by soccer players and other athletes.

Make sure you head over to "Dizzy Doll Boutique" on Facebook or @dizzydollboutique on Instagram to see the rest of their competitively priced range and to order edgy pieces like these at no shipping cost (within Australia).

Introducing: Britny Worthington

A week ago, I was lucky enough to team up with a group of talented ladies to style Dizzy Doll Boutique's first look-book. Britny Worthington, the current face of Dizzy Doll is more than just a blonde bombshell. She's confident, fresh and has a figure to make any girl green with envy and any guy weak at the knees!

I'm not usually a red, lace dress kinda girl - I tend to lean towards black leather or longish dresses that drape. In saying this, it doesn't mean I can't appreciate a sexy dress on a slim figure. If I had Britny's body, I'd wanna flaunt it in something like this.

If you're after on-trend clothing at competitive prices and don't have time to head to the shops, check out Dizzy Doll Boutique for free shipping Australia-wide.
